Software design manager at STMicroelectronics
Fabien Castanier is software design manager at STMicroelectronics. For more than 20 years he has worked in the semiconductor industry – in Europe and the United States – with particular attention in recent years, to network protocols and the applications of the Internet of Things.
He represents STMicroelectronics on the Board of Directors of the Internet Protocol for Smart Objects (IPSO) Alliance.
HOW TO MAKE THE EMBBEDED PLATFORMS AND THE DEVELOPED ENVIRONMENT FOR WEARABLE DEVICES MORE AVAILABLE
The development environment STM32 Open Development Environment (STM32 ODE) allows the fast development of prototypes devices and applications, by using the innovation family of micro controllers from 32-bit STM32 and a complete set of functions for measuring, connection, potency, audio, motor control and others. The combination of a vast amount of expandable boards based on commercial products from the vanguard with a modular software, from drive to an application level, allows the prototyping fast of ideas that can be easily transformed in the final design. The presentation will illustrate how this environment can be easily used to create applications in a wearable ambit, that appeal a serie of free instrument and open embedded software components.
